Don't let the exterior fool you. This was a quaint and relaxing experience. The hospitality that I felt from the owners and staff created an environment that felt more like a Bed and Breakfast, minus the breakfast, than a hotel. I was on the first floor. They were extremely accommodating to my cat. The owners had a pleasant discussion with me about my cat, instead of being rude like many motels. This scored huge points with me. There is a Family Dollar across the street and an Authentic Mexican Restaurant that I Highly recommend. If it is a cheat day, ha. Excellant Managment They listen
Great and simple. Checked in at 230AM. Vinny was fast and got a non smoking room which was perfect. The hallways smelled like bleach which is not a terrible thing for me. At least you know someone cleaned lol. The shower was the most important part. Great pressure and super hot water.
The owners of this hotel are exceptionally kind and accommodating, The rooms are clean and have a nice, relaxing design and comfort, and they around 30% cheaper than Super 8 for weekly rates. I stayed here for 3 weeks while on a temporary work assignment. For the service and accommodations compared to price, there isn't anything comparable in Mount Vernon. The restaurant in walking distance is tasty as a plus.
Lady at front desk was VERY accomodating and knows what customer service is. EVERYTHING worked, A/C, fridge, microwave, TV and ice machine. Everything was clean. Reasonable rates. Older motel, but looks can be deceiving. My room had no bathtub, just shower, so if traveling with children you might check first. Definitely worth 3 mile drive off interstate. Will stay there again when in the area.

Although the exterior and accommodations are a little dated, everything inside was clean and tidy, including the room. The gentleman who signed me in was pleasant and offered assistance for any issues. If you need a room that is simple but serviceable for a decent price, the Royal Inn is a good choice.
I retract my comment about the royal Inn! I leave a week early due to my children's father passing away. which I understand I can't gety money back but I busted my ass to make sure my room was clean to get my deposit. They couldn't give me my deposit back back because my card was stolen and needless to say they got me for a whole week and my deposit! Absolutely ridiculous!! Didn't even offer cash or nothing except nope can't do it cuz it's a different card. Pure bullshit!! $1300 a month to stay there. I'm beyond pissed about it. $50 I lost over a tragedy that I had to leave early!
We stayed here for a night and it was very pleasant. The room was clean, the bed was comfy, and everything worked like it should. Super easy check-in and the staff was friendly. It’s got everything you need for a comfortable stay, including micro and fridge. We'd definitely come back when we're in the area again!
